Senior Go Developer

We're seeking a skilled Go developer to join our team and contribute to our customers Apache Spark as a Service product called Datalab.

As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for refining and expanding Datalab's capabilities, leveraging your expertise in Go programming and Apache Spark to drive innovation. Every team member shares their knowledge, so that everyone can improve their skills in all areas, languages, architectures, etc. In return, be prepared to do the same :) .As we are spread across various offices and remote locations, team communication is key, so we use modern collaborative solutions to keep ourselves up to date on all the topics we're working on.


Responsibilities

  • Deploying infrastructure in new Availability Zones
  • Improving & bringing forward new ideas for our current infrastructure
  • Reacting to eventual failures in collaboration with other teams
  • Presenting your work during tech meetings
  • Coding, peer review, and deployment
  • Customer support in relation to your product
  • Deploying your code


Mandatory skills and qualifications

  • Experienced System Engineer who is passionate about DevOps best practices and cloud architecture, ideally with over 5 years of experience
  • Languages: Golang (good understanding of it)
  • API: gRPC/protobuf
  • Experience with (and love for) data science systems
  • Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana
  • Experience with a continuous integration workflow, Gitlab, and Git
  • Strong Linux knowledge
  • Peer reviews
  • Team spirit and mutual aid
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Autonomy and rigor
  • Very good command of English 


Optional skills (nice to have)

  • Apache Spark, Jupyter/JupyterLab, Exacaster Lighter
  • Worked in data science in previous roles (datasets, notebooks…)
  • Distributed systems (and debugging them)
  • Postgresql, Python and Helm experience is a plus
  • Container orchestration: Nomad, Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of the Bare Metal and cloud ecosystems
  • Teamwork on features, design, and implementation
  • Agile methods
